Fireside Feast is hiring Hosts / Hostesses for our seasonal outdoor guest experience in Ketchikan, Alaska. The host is the first point of contact for arriving guests and plays a key role in setting the tone for the entire Fireside Feast experience.

This position is responsible for greeting guests, coordinating arrivals, helping manage guest flow, assisting with seating, communicating with staff, and helping keep the operation organized during busy cruise passenger arrivals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
  • Help create a positive first impression for the Fireside Feast experience.
  • Coordinate with management regarding guest counts, cruise schedules, bus arrivals, and seating flow.
  • Communicate clearly with servers, bussers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management.
  • Help direct guests from arrival areas to assigned tables or gathering areas.
  • Provide initial information, orientation, and guest assistance.
  • Help provide chowder or initial guest service items when assigned.
  • Manage large guest groups in an organized and calm manner.
  • Assist with guest questions, directions, timing, and service flow.
  • Help keep entry areas, walkways, and guest spaces clean and professional.
Shared Outdoor Team Duties

All Fireside Feast employees are part of a hands-on outdoor hospitality team. In addition to the primary job duties, this role may include:

  • Helping build, maintain, monitor, and safely extinguish fires and fire pits.
  • Assisting with prep, setup, restocking, cleaning, and teardown.
  • Sweeping, mopping, trash removal, organizing supplies, and resetting guest areas.
  • Beginning-of-season setup and end-of-season breakdown/winterization.
  • Light manual labor, including moving supplies, carrying items, and helping maintain the site.
  • Trail and site maintenance, including minor trail repair and clearing walkways.
  • Assisting with passenger flow and guest movement.
  • Driving passengers in company vehicles when trained, authorized, and approved by management.
Qualifications
  • Prior hosting, customer service, tourism, restaurant, or event experience preferred.
  • Friendly, calm, organized, and professional.
  • Comfortable greeting and directing large groups of guests.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in rain, wind, and changing Southeast Alaska weather.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Food Handler Card required.
